Marching Along!

I have somewhat accomplished my February goals.

The next Le Jardin block.  

I chose this one because there were very few pointy leaves!

A Rainbow Garden is half quilted and my hope is to get it finished this week.

Another row is done for my red and green quilt.

I do have another pile of blocks made for Christmas Magic, but they do not make for an interesting picture. 

I did not make any progress on my red and white quilt, but...

worked instead on the long overdue wedding quilt. I also added a dozen or so of the joining hexies to the pile. Hoping this quilt will become my summer finish.

Here is my little quilt I designed for the quilt along over at The Olde World Quilt Shoppe.

To get the quilt along started,

they will be giving away one kit.

The kit includes all the fabrics to construct the flimsy, the Triangles on a Roll paper for the half square triangles and the binding.

Lisa Bongean, of Primitive Gatherings, recently taught at the shoppe and my friend, Cheryl A., took her class, Homegrown.

Cheryl used her Sashiko machine to quilt her project.

She did an awesome job!

Progress on Several Fronts

First three rows of In the Meadow.

I was so pleased with my progress until I noticed I had forgotten the steps on the church in Row 3...argh!! I am contemplating some unsewing, but now that I see it all together...maybe not. I used a 28wt. Aurifil cotton to blanket stitch the barren trees in Row 3.  Much quicker and easier than doing by hand!

Really enjoying A Rainbow Garden by Liberty Homestead. I am even giving the embroidery a go.

I used my Sashiko machine to quilt this UFO from a few years back.  

It is a Carol Hopkins pattern, Grandpap's Cards.

This time I used a low contrast thread.  Cannot wait to see what it looks like after a washing.

Last year I designed a patriotic quilt that I submitted to several magazines.  I was honored when Fons & Porter showed interest.  I just learned my quilt will be featured in their May/June issue of Love of Quilting. I am grateful to Diane Tomlinson and her staff for selecting my quilt. 

It is the first of the month, so time to make time for work on my blockhead projects.
