January's Goals

Over the holidays, I buttonhole stitched the first 6 blocks of my
Lori Smith Fit to Frame Number Six
small quilt.
Today I cut the wool shapes for the next two blocks.

This is a WIP I have promised myself to complete
before I start on another new project...
Country Whig Rose by Kim Diehl.

I continue to make progress on my DD's wedding quilt
with a few new flowers added to the garden.

I do have the wool prepped and half way stitched down for this month's stocking.
I have yet to start on the 110 HST's needed to border my 1880 Barbara Buchner Snyder Sampler,
but that will be my machine project for the month.

So, the only other goal I have for the month is to finish at least one UFO.
This adorable Easter Table Runner is calling to me.
Can I do it?
Check back at the end of the month to see.
What are your goals this month?

  5. Love the fussy cut hexies in the Moderns. The Easter runner is doable and so cute. I started quilting my UFO for the month. A quilt I started in 2004! lol Connected Friends, friendship star blocks made with star fabrics swapped with an online group back then.
Love your wool projects! A good January and it's not even half over :0) Jo

  6. Such a good idea to use wool for those little applique blocks. I like the blue bird in the one block.
I had forgotten about the Kim Diehl table runner pattern. It would be a very good addition to spring or summer decorating.

  8. It looks like you were quite productive over the holidays! Wonderful work on the Lori Smith blocks and I love the vibrant fabric colors you chose for your DD's wedding quilt, but I think my favorite project that you showed is that sweet Easter table runner. Are those yoyos in the center? How cute! My goals this month are to finish editing my next quilt book project, make a small quilt I bought at Quilt Expo last October, make more pincushions, write some magazine articles, order garden seeds, and finish reading the quilt book I got for Christmas—among many others!

  9. Your wool project is coming along beautifully, the blocks are gorgeous!!! I'm afraid the start to my year has been a bit chaotic, doing a few small projects that have become quite popular in blogland recently!! I don't know about this month, but this year I would like to have at least started my Dear Jane - I'll keep my fingers crossed on that goal LOL!!!

  10. I love seeing posts like this - lots of projects being worked on or thought of. Love the fabrics for Country Whig Rose and the table runner looks like a lot of fun. Would be nice to have it done this year. Is Easter early or late this year? That would factor into my decision!
Love seeing the progress on your other projects. You did quite a bit over the holidays! Good for you!

  13. you are really ambitious. to think this is only for january~!!
seeing your happy hexie flowers reminds me that i must get a 'background' fabric figured out for mine . . . i thought i was going to sew browns in all scrap fabrics around them but it's just not looking the way i had imagined it would . . . will have to try doing something much less busy.

i really like Kim Diehls style and this project you have here is no exception. can hardly wait to see your finish on that one~!

  14. You are really something with all that you get done! Love your hexies! I love hexies too! In my Life in the Midwest Pattern, I suggest using photo paper for the paper hexies and then using a glue stick to baste them...much quicker for me and they pop right out if you don't use too much glue. The glue pops right off the photo paper because it is slick. If you don't like to baste, give this a try...
Thanks foe all your lovely posts!
