I am diligently working on checking things off my UFO/WIP list.
Hopefully, this darling table topper from Kim Diehl's book, Simple Seasons, will be done in time for Easter next year if I just work an hour a day on the applique.
However, when I rush to the finish line, it gets further and further away.
My Album Quilt, from Kathleen Tracy's new book, Civil War Sewing Circle, was this close to a finish when I noticed I had placed three VERY similar blocks all together (they are on the right side and all 3 blocks use the same brown fabric and 2 blocks are identical.) Yikes! Time for a little unsewing.
Good reason to see what the Decorah Eagles are up to and work on a little hand applique!
I have always wanted to make that Kim D quilt! It's so sweet! Love the civil war blocks!!!
ReplyDeleteThe table topper is so cute! It will be perfect for Easter 2012!
ReplyDeleteI like the fabric you chose for setting the CW blocks.
Oh geesh...another quilt that has been on my want to do list! I just love that bunny runner and HAD TO HAVE the book just because! Your much farther than I am....I mean I only have the book! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour table topper is adorable! I think the CW blocks look fine just as they are, but I tend not to unsew unless absolutely necessary! Love the setting fabric.
ReplyDeleteWhat a adorable bunny quilt !! Love it !
ReplyDeleteYour album quilt is just wonderful , what wonderful fabric .
oh wow both of those are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have eyed the table runner with the yo-yo's in Kim's book. Perfect for spring. But I don't like making yo-yo's.
ReplyDeleteLove them both - and had to laugh about the eagles - that is what I do when I need a break too. Can't believe how big the babies are already!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute runner, I hope you get it done before Easter. Easter seems to be the forgotten holiday for us quilters, lots of Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day quilts, but not much Easter.
ReplyDeleteBoth projects = great. Love the bunnies for Easter and the Album Quilt is perfect for the 150th CW Anniversary ! They will be done... and won't you be proud !!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely work on the table topper. It is really charming and sweet!
ReplyDeleteYour table-topper looks very cute, and I love your quilt in progress! Isn't it a pest when you sew blocks together and then have to undo them?!!! It's a beautiful project nonetheless!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that bunny quilt, guess I should get that book out and start! maybe it will be done for next Spring/Easter!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyour doing a great job
routing for you to finish this year!

What a cute table topper! I think all of us have too many projects going at once....but it is fun!
ReplyDeleteThe table topper is adorable. There certainly are a lot of yo-yos.
ReplyDeleteYour My Album quilt is gorgeous! Sorry that you have to 'un-sew' some of the blocks.
A creativ euse for yo-yo's. Its looking good. And l just love your Album Quilt. l had to look hard to find the 3 fabrics the same. Thanks for sharing the photos.
ReplyDeleteThat little table topper is one of my favs! It is on my to-do list!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that bunny rabbit pattern. I dread making the yo-yos without a yo-yo maker, so it's never been more than a favourite to dream about in the book. You did a fabulous job! I guess I will have to suck it up and buy the little yo-yo tool! Thge cover of one of the BH&G magazines has yo-yos all over it! Someone MUST be trying to tell me something! :o)
ReplyDeleteThat table topper is so sweet...for whatever Easter it is done it will be perfect! Love your Civil War quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat table topper is a winner, I second all previous comments.
ReplyDeleteA little unpicking is no fun, I often do lots of it when I am rushing or working too late at night.
I like the CW grid in your sidebar. A great way to keep track of the quilt as it evolves.
Love both projects. And I've been forgetting about the eagles the last couple of days, so thanks for reminding me. Now I'm off to make your latest block!
ReplyDeleteAnother Kim Dhiel, I love it!!!!
