Haste, Makes Waste!!

I am diligently working on checking things off my UFO/WIP list.
Hopefully, this darling table topper from Kim Diehl's book, Simple Seasons, will be done in time for Easter next year if I just work an hour a day on the applique.
However, when I rush to the finish line, it gets further and further away.
My Album Quilt, from Kathleen Tracy's new book, Civil War Sewing Circle, was this close to a finish when I noticed I had placed three VERY similar blocks all together (they are on the right side and all 3 blocks use the same brown fabric and 2 blocks are identical.)  Yikes! Time for a little unsewing.
Good reason to see what the Decorah Eagles are up to and work on a little hand applique!

  4. Your table topper is adorable! I think the CW blocks look fine just as they are, but I tend not to unsew unless absolutely necessary! Love the setting fabric.

  7. I have eyed the table runner with the yo-yo's in Kim's book. Perfect for spring. But I don't like making yo-yo's.

  8. Love them both - and had to laugh about the eagles - that is what I do when I need a break too. Can't believe how big the babies are already!

  9. Such a cute runner, I hope you get it done before Easter. Easter seems to be the forgotten holiday for us quilters, lots of Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day quilts, but not much Easter.

  12. Your table-topper looks very cute, and I love your quilt in progress! Isn't it a pest when you sew blocks together and then have to undo them?!!! It's a beautiful project nonetheless!!!

  19. I have always loved that bunny rabbit pattern. I dread making the yo-yos without a yo-yo maker, so it's never been more than a favourite to dream about in the book. You did a fabulous job! I guess I will have to suck it up and buy the little yo-yo tool! Thge cover of one of the BH&G magazines has yo-yos all over it! Someone MUST be trying to tell me something! :o)

  21. That table topper is a winner, I second all previous comments.
A little unpicking is no fun, I often do lots of it when I am rushing or working too late at night.
I like the CW grid in your sidebar. A great way to keep track of the quilt as it evolves.
