SAL setting update

The instructions for setting the individual blocks is now posted.
This is the traditional and simplest way to set these blocks, using the half blocks at the top and bottom of the middle row. Instructions for the half blocks has been posted.
Just add 1" finished inner borders and a pleasing outer border,
 maybe 3 1/2" finished.
I always 'interview' my borders.
I decide what width is pleasing to me visually and then I measure it, adding a 1/2" for seam allowances.
this is where I am going.
Floating LeMoyne Stars incorporated in the border.
Stay tuned!

  1. Thank you for the finishing instructions. I have a few more blocks to go before I'm finished but I'm getting closer - lol!

  2. Oooh, Cheryl! I love the floating LeMoynes! That is a very cool way to finish up the quilt! I liked the blocks, initially, but that bit of whimsey to border it just sings to me! LOL Duly recorded in my "cool way to set things up, missy" file. :-D

  3. Both are beautiful, I prefer first but floating LeMoyes is a great idea!
Thanks for sharing istruction, next weekend I'll work on it most probably in pink :)

  4. Awesome! Love the floating LeMoynes!
    Thank you!

  5. Love the setting Cheryl and it is one I have never used. Will have to remedy that in the future. Those floating stars just give it that little bit extra.

  6. Thank you Cheryl for stopping by my blog. Yes, the flowers are growing nicely.

  7. I am working on the blocks still only have 3 made--- but I am pluging away!

Thanks for all your good instructions Cheryl.

    Carolyn :)

  8. Ooooh, I just love your two settings :-). I can't wait getting more blocks done. Your instructions have (what I have made so far) been very good and easy to follow. Thank you for using your time for making this for us.

  9. I love these floating stars, Cheryl.

  10. I love this! Do you have somewhere that shows how much of each color to use to make one like yours? It's great!
